Kommentar/Beschreibung

The Wittenberg Autumn School “Transnational Luther: Wittenberg, Reformations, and Religious Legacies” is a joint course offered in cooperation between the Universities of Halle-Wittenberg, Copenhagen, and Oslo. The course will be conducted in English and will bring together approximately two lecturers and ten students from each participating institution.

The Autumn School introduces students to central themes of the Lutheran Reformation and explores the dynamics through which the Reformation developed as a transnational movement.

The course consists of two parts. The first part comprises two online sessions for the entire group, scheduled for 22 October and 5 November 2026. The second and main part of the course will take place in person at the Leucorea in Wittenberg from 26 to 31 October 2026. Mornings will be devoted to lectures, while afternoons will include excursions to important historical sites in Wittenberg as well as collaborative group work.

In order to ensure a balanced composition of the group, final admission decisions will be made by 1 October 2026. We kindly ask for your understanding.
