Master IAS-GCG: GEO.07209 Human Geography 1: Approaches and Research in Human Geography Today

This course offers an intensive introduction to epistemologies and contemporary approaches in social and political geographies, divided between Dr. Amy Walker, Dr. Junsoo Kim and Jenny Appel. Across our sessions (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am–2pm, see module schedule for which weeks), we will engage closely with 1–3 set readings per session as the basis for discussion. Assessment takes place in November and January, through a single-choice exam on 24th November and a 3,000-word literature review essay due in late January- both in English.

Following a brief introduction on 20th October, the first full seminar will be on 27th October. Readings for this session will be circulated to those registered by 20th October. If you register for this module later than 20th October, please email us to receive info on the readings.
