Kommentar/Beschreibung

‘Communication of the Gospel’ is a core concept in German practical theology. It was coined in particular by Christian Grethlein, and he reflects the broad spectrum of Christian teaching, worship, and diaconal action as communication of the Gospel.
The seminar will give an introduction to this model of practical theology and illustrate it with current topics. We will reflect contexts and discuss examples of communicating the Gospel, like contemporary worship, influencers on TikTok, rite of passage ceremonies, messy church and others.

Literature: Christian Grethlein, An Introduction to Practical Theology: History, Theory, and the Communication of the Gospel in the Present (2016). Additional literature will be given in the seminar.
