Comment/Description

The course provides an introductory overview of the historical precedents and key concepts of the decolonial approach, as well as its impacts on geographical thought in Latin America. It also engages with critical perspectives developed by scholars from the region that both dialogue with and critically challenge the assumptions of decolonial thought. The main objective of the course is to broaden students’ conceptual repertoire from a non-European epistemic standpoint, fostering and qualifying the empirical operationalization of concepts within their own master’s research projects.
