Comment/Description

Die Vorlesung behandelt exemplarische Themenfelder der materialen oder angewandten Ethik. Darin wird ein Bogen geschlagen, der von den umfassenden gesellschaftlichen Ordnungen bis hin zum individuellen Leben des Menschen als leibliches Subjekt reicht. Dabei kommen Themen zur Sprache wie: Staat und Politik, Krieg und Gewalt, Recht und Religion, Kirchen und Zivilgesellschaft, sozialdiakonische Institutionen, Wirtschaft unter den Bedingungen von Globalisierung und Finanzkrise, Geld, Technik, Formen des personalen Zusammenlebens von Geschlechtern und Generationen, demographischer Wandel, Probleme der Medizinethik u.a.m.
Ein Problem gegenwärtiger Ethik liegt darin, dass sie in separate Teile zu zerfallen scheint. Auf der einen Seite stehen subtile Erörterungen ethischer Denkfiguren, zumeist in Auseinandersetzung mit Argumenten aus klassischen Traditionen. Auf der anderen Seite liegen die Bereiche der sog. angewandten Ethik, deren Dynamik von den rasanten Entwicklungen in Wissenschaft, Technik und Gesellschaft bestimmt wird und zu Spezialdiskursen führt. Ein Ziel der Vorlesung liegt darin, zwischen diesen beiden Teilen Verbindungen herzustellen, indem wechselseitig innere Bezüge beleuchtet werden. Deshalb wird die Vorlesung immer auch wirkmächtige Konzepte moderner Ethik aus Philosophie und Theologie heranziehen exemplarisch auf ihre Bedeutung für materialethische Fragen abklopfen.
