Participants Due to the interactive nature of the colloquium, the number of participants is limited to 20 students. The selection procedure is managed in Stud.Ip.
The examination board and faculty council have decided on the following priority list for the allocation of the 20 colloquium places:
1. M.Sc. Economics
2. B.Sc. VWL und BusEco
3. other courses admitted for the module.
You will be informed about the results of the draw procedure by 04.04.2025 at the latest.

Aufgrund des interaktiven Charakters des Kolloquiums ist die Teilnehmeranzahl auf 20 Studierende begrenzt. Das Auswahlverfahren wird in Stud.Ip geführt.
Prüfungsausschuss und Fakultätsrat haben für die Vergabe der 20 Kolloquiumsplätze folgende Prioritätenliste beschlossen:
1. M.Sc. Economics
2. B.Sc. VWL und BusEco
3. andere Studiengänge, die für das Modul zugelassen sind.
Über das Ergebnisse des Losverfahrens werden Sie spätestens am 04.04.2025 informiert.

Module assignments

Comment/Description

The emerging global society faces major challenges. These include the opportunities and risks of globalization, but also international problems such as climate change, the prevention of corruption, the fight against cross-border infectious diseases and, more recently, terrorism. From a normative point of view, the provision of global public goods is characterized by the fact that there is no international consensus on values, so that common goals can only be formulated at the level of institutional arrangements (consensus on rules). The aim of the colloquium is to generate suggestions for sustainable successful solutions on the basis of concrete application problems. The focus is on the acquisition of business ethical argumentation competence.


Die entstehende Weltgesellschaft steht vor großen Herausforderungen. Hierzu gehören die Chancen und Risiken der Globalisierung, aber auch internationale Probleme wie der Klimawandel, die Korruptionsprävention, die Bekämpfung grenzüberschreitender Infektionskrankheiten und neuerdings der Terrorismus. Die Bereitstellung globaler öffentlicher Güter ist in normativer Hinsicht dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass es keinen internationalen Wertekonsens gibt, so dass gemeinsame Ziele nur auf der Ebene institutioneller Arrangements formuliert werden können (Regelkonsens). Ziel des Kolloquiums ist es, anhand konkreter Anwendungsprobleme Vorschläge für nachhaltig erfolgreiche Lösungen zu generieren. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Erwerb wirtschaftsethischer Argumentationskompetenz.

Admission settings

The course is part of admission "Beschränkte Teilnehmendenanzahl: Ethics and Economics of Global Challenges (Kolloquium)".
The following rules apply for the admission:
  • A defined number of seats will be assigned to these courses.
    The seats in the affected courses have been assigned at 03.04.2025 on 23:59. Additional seats may be available via a waiting list.
  • The enrolment is possible from 27.02.2025, 13:55 to 02.04.2025, 23:59.

After enrolment, participants will manually be selected.
