Comment/Description

This ASQ module can be taken as a one-semester standalone course.
UNIcert III – Professional Communication focuses on developing students' university-level speaking, listening, critical reading, and writing skills, based on specific C1-level competences outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

A particular focus will be placed on:
☐ Anticipating intercultural communication issues.
☐ Networking strategies.
☐ Interviewing strategies.
☐ Presentation strategies
☐ Adapting communication to audience and contextual factors.
☐ Building credibility and rapport with an audience.
Students will learn through readings, discussions, listening, direct observation, and practice.

The course is aimed at all students with proven, univesity-level B2 English, regardless of academic discipline, who are interested in extending their knowledge of language and its use.

ℹ️ To ensure that all students are placed in the course most appropriate for their level, we require them to take a 30-minute Language Placement Test during the first week of the semester. For more information about test dates and times, please visit the MLU Sprachenzentrum website.

UNIcert III – Speech and Debate also constitutes one component of the requirement for admission to the UNIcert III certificate examination. Please contact the module organiser for more information regarding the separately examined UNIcert III certificate.

  • A defined number of seats will be assigned to these courses.
    The seats will be assigned in order of enrolment.
  • The enrolment is possible from 16.03.2026, 09:00 to 17.04.2026, 19:30.
