In der Vorlesung werden fortgeschrittene Konzepte und Methoden des Information Retrieval sowie die entsprechenden mathematischen Hintergründe vermittelt. Themengebiete sind beispielsweise Learning-to-Rank-Algorithmen, Query Understanding, Neuronale Retrieval-Modelle, Retrieval-Axiome, und Online-Evaluierungsverfahren.
