Das Modul führt die Studierenden in grundlegende Algorithmen und Prinzipien der Computergrafik ein. Das Modul bildet die Grundlage für alle weiterführenden Lehrangebote der Computergrafik dar. Ein besonderes Augenmerk legt das Modul auf die Fähigkeit zum Programmieren mit der Grafik-API OpenGL. Die Studierenden erwerben Kenntnis der unterschiedlichen Aspekte für real time rendering und photorealistic rendering. Schwerpunkte für das inhaltliche Verständnis bilden Erarbeitung der Grundsätze des 3D-Sehens und die Perspektive.
