Module contents
In der Vorlesung wird eine Einführung in die Problem-, Ideen-, Methoden- und Strukturgeschichte der Mathematik vermittelt. Exemplarisch werden dabei als Schwerpunkte insbesondere herangezogen werden:
Geschichte der mathematischen Logik
Entwicklung des Zahlbegriffs
Herausbildung und Entwicklung des Infinitesimalkalküls und der modernen
Algebra
Euklidische und Nicht-Euklidische Geometrie
Geschichte der Mengenlehre
Anliegen der Vorlesung wird es sein, durch die Betrachtung historischer Hintergründe, gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungsbedingungen und konkreter, exemplarisch ausgewählter Problemkreise mathematischer Forschung einen Beitrag zum besseren Verständnis der modernen Mathematik und ihrer aktuellen Entwicklungen zu geben.
