Learning organisation Learning objectives:
-Knowledge of the role of institutions in an economic setting including how they are embedded in an overarching governance architecture
-Understanding of institutions as essentially market-driven outcome with the aim to economize on transaction costs
-Ability to make informed choices between alternative institutional arrangements from a theoretical and practical point of view in order to create effective institutions
-Ability to analyze current problems from practice based on the knowledge acquired in the course
Performance record presentation and seminar paper (will be updated in case of virtual semester)

Miscellanea Contents:
-Models and theoretical approaches from the (Neo-)Institutionalist tradition and related current approaches
-Applications of institutional methodology to current problems from practice (changing subjects, e. g. institutional bypassing, platform regulation, etc.)
-Institutions and interactive situations including negotiations, regulations, informal and formal rule-making, contract design and enforcement
-Impact of institutional characteristics on economic outcomes
