Comment/Description

After successfully attending the module students are expected to be able to:
- Students are able to provide an overview of the core challenges of global food security.
- Students are able to choose appropriate theoretical economic concepts for analysing research questions in the field of agricultural development.
- Students are able to analyse and to evaluate political instruments for improving global food security and agricultural development.
- Students are able to critically evaluate texts related to international agricultural development.

- Role of agriculture in the process of economic growth
- Policy instruments to promote agricultural development aligned with a societal perspective
- Challenges and solutions for implementing development oriented agricultural policies
- Institutional economic perspective on development challenges in agriculture and rural areas
