Comment/Description

The "Gender-Power Relations in Music Activities" seminar for a Master's degree examines the dynamics of gender and power within various musical contexts. It considers essential elements like social class, race, age, gender ideologies, religion, and social systems to investigate how power is perceived across cultures, how marginalized genders respond to dominant ones, and how different genders confront established norms in musical activities. The seminar will be held in English.

It is important to note that, as part of the Gender Studies certificate program offered to MLU students by the gender*bildet network office for gender research and teaching, this seminar can be credited toward the gender*bildet study program (Gender Studies Certificate). Students who regularly attend the course can receive a certificate from the gender*bildet network office for gender research and teaching. Alternatively, students from other study programs may be interested and wish to participate in this seminar outside of their own curriculum, and can also receive this certificate.
