Comment/Description

This course consists of two parts: cross-cultural and evolutionary. During the cross-cultural part of the seminar, we will cover how education and child development happens in different cultures around the world. This will include small-scale non-industiral societies, and how knowing about those practices can be useful in teaching in Germany. During the evolutionary part, we will explore learning during childhood from evolutionary perspective, talk about the role of genes in learning, and discuss comparative studies (studies with animal participants). As part of the course, you will be invited to an excursion in Leipzig Zoo, where one of Europe's most well-known primate research centers is located.

Das Seminar wird in englischer Sprache abgehalten, das gesamte Studienmaterial wird sowohl auf Deutsch als auch auf Englisch zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Seminarprüfung/Aufgaben können in deutscher Sprache eingereicht werden

Modul 1: Grundlagen der Pädagogischen Psychologie muss bis zum Seminarstart erfolgreich absolviert worden sein. Bitte halten Sie zum ersten Seminartermin einen entsprechenden Nachweis bereit (Löwenportal)!
