Comment/Description

This course is an introduction into the anthropology of mobilities. We will read and discuss theoretical works that both have led to and have emanated from the so-called “mobility turn” in the social sciences and in the field of sociocultural anthropology more particularly. We will also examine various ethnographic cases that provide insights into different worlds in motion in order to help us comprehend the diversity of movements that shape people’s everyday conducts. A particular analytic attention will be given to how movement mobilizes individuals and groups in their pursuits for a good life.
