Introduction into Metab. Engineering is shared between Dr. Maximilian Frey and me.
While Max focusses on the engineering aspects I will provide analytical information on how to assess metabolomics asssays and how to purify natural/engineered products and how to analyze their quality.
This is done with special focus on chromatographic enrichment and separation procedures.
During this term I will teach principles of natural metabolism governing metabolic conversions during catabolism and anabolism.
Furthermore, I will touch principles of uni- and multivariate statistics since basic understanding is required when it comes to analyzing complex OMICS data.
