Inhalt
Im ASQ-Modul "Engagiert. Studiert." haben Studierende aller Bachelorstudiengänge die Möglichkeit, ihr fachliches Wissen außerhalb des Campus in gemeinnützigen Organisationen anzuwenden und dabei ihre sozialen, kommunikativen, methodischen und fachlichen Kompetenzen (weiter)zuentwickeln. Dabei werden Sie in Teams aus internationalen und nationalen Studierenden zusammen arbeiten.
Die Arbeitsfelder im ASQ-Modul sind breit gestreut – beispielsweise Ökologie, Kultur, Soziales und Bildung.
Konzept
Das Modul ist ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen der MLU Halle-Wittenberg, der Freiwilligen-Agentur Halle-Saalkreis e.V. und der Volksbank Halle (Saale) eG. Es basiert auf dem aus den USA stammenden Konzept des Service Learning (deutsch auch: "Lernen durch Engagement"), bei dem praktische, gemeinnützig ausgerichtete Tätigkeiten ("service") mit fachlichem Lernen ("learning") verknüpft werden. Daher ist Bestehensvoraussetzung für das Modul, gemeinsam mit den TeampartnerInnen im Laufe des Semesters pro Person 60 Stunden Service zu absolvieren sowie an den begleitenden Seminaren teilzunehmen (maximal einmal Fehlen ist zulässig).
Die Seminare finden überwiegend auf Deutsch statt, jedoch mit überwiegend englischsprachigen Arbeitsmaterialien. Wir begrüßen es sehr, wenn sich die Teilnehmenden in der jeweils fremderen Sprache artikulieren (also die internationalen TN auf Deutsch, die deutschen TN auf Englisch).
Teilnehmende
Die Unterscheidung "deutsche TeilnehmerInnen" und "internationale TeilnehmerInnen" nehmen wir vor, weil wir gleich viel deutsche wie internationale Teilnehmende benötigen, um gemischte Teams zu bilden. Was genau "deutsch" und "international" bedeutet, ist dabei offen. Am wichtigsten für das Modul ist, ob Sie sich mit den Regeln, Gebräuchen und der Sprache Deutschlands sehr vertraut fühlen oder ob sie Ihnen eher fremd sind bzw. ob Sie in einer anderen Kultur bzw. einem anderen Land mehr "kulturelles Selbstbewusstsein" haben. Das ist unabhängig von Ihrer Nationalität, Geburtsland, Herkunft der Eltern etc.
Anmeldung
Die Kurse um 16:00 und um 18:00 sind inhaltlich identisch. Eine Mehrfachanmeldung macht also keinen Sinn.
Der Anmeldezeitraum ist zwischen Dienstag, 27.09.2011, bis Sonntag, 09.10.2011. Für eine vollständige und gültige Anmeldung tragen Sie sich bitte in StudIP ein UND wählen Sie über Doodle das Projekt für Ihr Engagement/ Service (die Links folgen). Nur wenn Sie sich für beides eintragen, können Sie zum ASQ-Modul "Engagiert. Studiert." zugelassen werden.
Wenn Sie selbst ein Projekt für Ihr Engagement initiieren oder vorschlagen möchten, wenden Sie sich mit einer kurzen Beschreibung bitte bis zum 30. September an uns (jenny.weber@freiwilligen-agentur.de bzw. christiane.roth@paedagogik.uni-halle.de). Voraussetzung ist, dass es gemeinnützig ist und dass Sie mindestens eine weitere Person in Ihr Projekt aufnehmen, um es im Team durchzuführen/ umzusetzen.
Auftaktveranstaltung
Die Teilnahme an der Auftaktveranstaltung ist verpflichtend, um "Engagiert. Studiert." belegen zu können. Sie findet statt am 12.10. um 15:30 im Hörsaal in Haus 31 am Franckeplatz 1 (Franckesche Stiftungen). Dort lernen Sie Ihre TeampartnerInnen kennen. Die Teams ergeben sich jeweils aus der Anmeldung für das gleiche Projekt. Die Auftaktveranstaltung ist für die Teilnehmenden beider Kurse um 16:00 und um 18:00 Uhr.
Frühere Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer von "Engagiert. Studiert." können in diesem Modul KEINE weiteren CP für ASQ erwerben.
Content
The ASQ-module „Engagiert. Studiert.“ is for all students in Bachelor programs. It offers the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in non-profit-organizations outside of the campus and to develop your social, communicative, methodological and professional competences. You’ll work together in mixed teams of students from Germany and from other countries. ASQ stands for Allgemeine Schlüsselqualifikationen and means general key qualifications.
The working areas of the ASQ-module are very diverse – for example ecology, culture, social matters and education.
Concept
The ASQ-module “Engagiert. Studiert.” is a cooperation between the Martin-Luther-University Halle, the Freiwilligen-Agentur Halle-Saalkreis (volunteer center) and the Volksbank Halle eG. It is based on the learning-/ teaching concept of Service Learning.
You, the participants, volunteer in a non-profit organization or you develop and realize a nonprofit project by yourself (=service). Additionally you attend accompanying classes where you exchange your experiences, reflect on your own actions and learn techniques, like project management (=learning). The service is done in teams which can be internationally mixed. So cooperation and coordination within the team is one of the most challenging experiences of this project.
The aims of “Engagiert. Studiert.” are to allow intercultural working experiences to all participants, to sensitize your self-perception and to strengthen your self-awareness related to real-world practical tasks and furthermore to enable you to do some volunteer work within your studies.
Each student needs to do a service of 60 hours within the four months of the semester. Participation in classes is mandatory, only missing of one class will be accepted.
Language
The classes will be hold in German, but the working papers and materials will be in English. We encourage all participants to try to communicate in a foreign language, i.e. we will really really appreciate to hear foreign students speaking German and German students speaking English. Within your team you need to negotiate the language. The preferred language of the non-profit-organizations depends on their staff.
Participants
We would like to have equal numbers of national and international participants in our ASQ-module. For reaching this we have those separate groups in StudIP (“German participants” and “International participants”) – just for counting ;-)
We are very liberal about the meaning and understanding of “German” and “International”. The most important point is if you feel familiar to the customs, traditions and the language in Germany or if they feel rather strange to you. It might be that you feel closer to or more self-confident in another culture or in another country. This feeling may not be a result of your nationality, place of birth, origin of your parents or whatever. You decide if you register as an “international” or as a “national” participant.
Registration
Two classes will be hold – one at 4 pm, the other at 6 pm. They are exactly the same. So please register only for that class which is most convenient to your weekly agenda.
Registration can be done between tuesday, September 27th, and Sunday, October 9th. For complete and valid registration please register here in StudIP AND please choose a project/ service via doodle. The links to doodle will be presented here as soon as necessary. We need both registrations in order to accept you for the ASQ-module.
If you would like to propone or initiate a project by yourself you are very welcome to do so. Please send us a brief description by September 30th (jenny.weber@freiwilligen-agentur.de and christiane.roth@paedagogik.uni-halle.de). It needs to be a nonprofit project or activity and you should be willing to realize it with at least one more participant of “Engagiert. Studiert.”. Team spirit is important to us ;-)
Kick-off meeting
You need to take part in the kick-off meeting on Wednesday, October 12th at 3.30 pm in the lecture hall in building no. 31 at Franckeplatz 1 in the Franckesche Stiftungen (participation is mandatory). There you will get to know your team mate(s) because you will register individually for the projects and at the kick-off you’ll meet the others for the first time. The kick-off meeting is for the participants of both classes, that at 4 pm and the one at 6 pm.
If you have taken part at „Engagiert. Studiert.” before you can’t take part again and gain more credit points for ASQ. We are very sorry about that.
