Comment/Description

We will explore the post-mining landscape of the Werbeliner Lake near Halle - by now a nature conservation area that is home to a variety of plants, birds and a wolf pack.
We will learn about wolves in Germany, wolf monitoring in Germany, identifying wolf feces and tracks and reading out camera traps together with our local guide. We will further learn about the history of this landscape and on the birds that inhabit the different habitats.

IMPORTANT: We will explore the area by bike. The paths are flat and paved. Please bring your own bike or organize yourself a bike to borrow for the day.
We will travel to the area by train (~50min, exact times will be announced). You can use your student ticket and can take your bike in the train. We will meet at the main Station in Halle.
People coming from Leipzig can go together with our guide Jan Schöne from 'Leipzig Hbf' to 'Delitzsch unterer Bahnhof' via S2 or RE13 (times will be announces).
Exact meeting times will be announced via Email a few days before the excursion.
