The Advanced Course offers an overview of important theoretical orientations and systematic subdomains of the discipline. The module, thereby, elaborates a wide range of theories and goes beyond the theoretical directions represented at the Institute for Social & Cultural Anthropology. The module conveys state-of-the-art international theoretical work and disciplinary differentiation. The intended learning outcomes of the course are: (1) Advanced knowledge of central theoretical positions in anthropology; (2) Competence to read and discuss sophisticated anthropological texts in English language; (3) Advanced competences in scientific argumentation and substantiated integration of anthropological theoretical positions Recommended Reading: Inda, Jonathan Xavier. 2005.
