In this course students will continue to practise the four basic skills, with a special emphasis on oral competence and grammatical and lexical accuracy. The overall aim is to assist students in improving their proficiency in English. Participants will be encouraged to extend their confidence and flexibility in communicating in English on various topics and to use appropriate and accurate language to express ideas. All students on this course will be expected to participate in a Skype tandem project with native speakers of English studying German in their home countries.
To gain credit for this course, students must participate actively and complete all the required assignments. Students on the "old" degree programmes will be required to pass a final test.
