Comment/Description

In this course, we will use linguistic approaches like pragmatics and text linguistics to investigate digital texts and practices. We will concern ourselves with both structural and social features of language use online. Another important part will be learning about how exactly we can go about researching language use online, what kinds of tools we can use and what ethical questions about online data we have to ask.
In the end, students will be required to present a research proposal for a study on digitally mediated communication.
