Comment/Description

This course is especially designed to introduce first semester retrainees to the structure and varieties of the English language. The topics to be covered are:
Sounds: The phonetics and phonology of English
Words: Word Formation and meaning (Semantics)
Sentences: The structure of simple sentences, complex syntax.
Utterances: Language in Context (Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics)
