Kommentar/Beschreibung

Storytelling is a highly compelling human activity, and one we all engage in naturally in our everyday communication with others. This area of language can be exploited both for the acquisition of language by the learner, and as a rewarding activity in the classroom by those who wish to teach English to others. This dual approach constitutes the essence of this course. We will use stories as a language resource and as a tool for practising the oral skills necessary to put magic into your storytelling. We will also go beyond that to investigate activities that follow on from listening to stories for recycling language, grammar input, listening and oral production - encouraging others to tell their stories. This course is designed, above all, for prospective primary school teachers, but is open to all other students as well. Everyone who enjoys listening to and telling stories is welcome to participate.
