- Grundlegende Datenbank-Begriffe, Funktionen von DBMS
- Einführung in die mathematische Logik mit Anwendungen für Datenbanken
- Relationales Datenmodell, Integritätsbedingungen
- Relationale Algebra, Ausdrucksfähigkeit von Anfragesprachen
- Die Datenbanksprache SQL (Schwerpunkt der Vorlesung)
- Einführung in Datenbankentwurf (ER-Model, Logischer Entwurf, Relationale Normalformen)
- Kurze Einführung in den physischen Datenbank-Entwurf (Indexe)
- Datenbank-Sicherheit, Zugriffsrechte in SQL, Sichten
- Transaktionen, Mehrbenutzerbetrieb (Concurrency Control)
- Einführung in die Anwendungs-Programmierung
