This course will provide students and PhD candidates with the opportunity to present and discuss their current research projects or topics for written/oral exams in American Studies with other students and the lecturer. Here they will receive constructive feedback and suggestions. Presented materials include literary texts and theoretical essays (excerpts from texts that will be part of written/oral exams), advanced project outlines, parts of B.A.- and M.A.-theses, chapters of state exam theses and dissertations, or first drafts of academic presentations and articles. Invited are also graduate students who are interested in recent developments in American Studies (no presentation necessary). Requests for presentations can be made in the first session.
