The course aims at providing an introduction to the principles and rules of Italian private law in a comparative perspective. In particular, the knowledge of the fundamental institutions of private law and the understanding of their general principles will be provided to the students. The following topics are the subject of particular attention: the distinction between private and public law; the sources; natural and legal persons; property and possession; obligations and contracts; non-contractual liability; family. The most relevant issues will be discussed during the lessons, with particular reference to new legislation and the most recent and significant case law. The course can be attended regardless of the semester enrollment. Classes will be taught in English. The final exam will be oral.
