Comment/Description

Das ethische Denken hat in der Moderne viele Wandlungen, Vertiefungen und Ausweitungen erfahren. Ein entscheidender Transformationsstrang kann in der Entstehung feministischer Ethiken erblickt werden, die in der Regel nicht als begrenzte Bereichsethik daherkommen, sondern den Anspruch artikulieren, feministische Perspektiven auf der Grundlagenebene zu verorten. Eine entscheidende Vorreiterin auf theologischen Gebiet war die US-amerikanische Ethikerin Beverly W. Harrison (1932–2012). Unter Einbezug marxistischer Gesellschaftsanalyse mit dem Ziel der Aufhebung von Unterdrückung überhaupt – die in der Unterdrückung der Frau ihren basalen Ausdruck finde – hat Harrison ein der Befreiungstheologie nahestehendes Konzept christlich-feministischer Sozialethik entwickelt, das auch spätere Debatten stark beeinflusst hat. In der Übung werden wir Aufsätze von Harrison lesen und kritisch diskutieren. Eine gewisse Grundvertrautheit mit systematisch-theologischem Arbeiten ist wünschenswert, aber kein Muss. Zwingend vorausgesetzt wird die Bereitschaft zur Lektüre englischsprachiger Texte.
