Kommentar/Beschreibung

In this course we will read selected dramas by contemporary American authors. Students will be provided with the vocabulary to describe and analyze dramatic texts against the backdrop of the contemporary socio-historical context in the U.S. in order to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of dramatic texts, their compositional structures and their potential for productions on the stage.
This course is organized as a digital course, consisting of weekly reading and (short) writing assignments (“Studienleistungen”) and synchronous meetings on a digital platform where we will have the opportunity to discuss the respective topics and reflect on our reading experiences.
