Kommentar/Beschreibung

In light of the crisis in Ukraine and the turmoil in the Mideast it appears to be ever more important to think about the prospective orientation of NATO in the framework of the wider transatlantic community – especially since these examples are only two of many issues challenging the Alliance these days. The origins of NATO, its changes and challenges, central core issues as well as its future prospects are topics this seminar will analyze among others. After an introduction of the aforemen-tioned subjects, the seminar will focus on concrete case studies to determine which future course NATO will possibly take.
