Comment/Description

This course has the goal of introducing economic anthropological discussions on the themes of market, informality, community and morality. We will study recent and classical works on informal economic processes as well as more recent ethnographies. The students will have a chance to learn and think about the local and global dimensions of these processes and get acquainted with thinking critically and being informed by theory and empirical studies. The examples will be provided primarily from former socialist and non-socialist countries, but equally from different parts and times of the global world.
